This role offers the opportunity to shape how leading organisations understand and reduce their environmental impacts by applying lifecycle thinking to drive systemic, science-based sustainability outcomes.
As a Senior Consultant in Lifecycle Thinking, you’ll lead and deliver high-impact sustainability projects focused on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and material flow analysis. You’ll work with clients across sectors to quantify and reduce environmental impacts, support innovation in lifecycle tools, and contribute to the growth of this capability at Edge.
This role will have a national focus and ideally be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality technical work across LCA, EPDs, and material flow analysis.
- Lead client projects and relationships, ensuring delivery is on time and on budget.
- Contribute to business development activities and contribute to our sales pipeline.
- Contribute to proposal development and strategic conversations with clients.
- Mentor junior consultants and support internal knowledge-sharing.
- Represent Edge in the market through thought leadership and client-facing events.
- Help refine and scale our tools, processes, and service offerings.
What we’re looking for
You are client-focused, solutions-oriented, and known for your positive attitude. With strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, you’re seen as a trusted advisor. You’re adaptable, proactive, and capable of balancing delivery responsibilities with business development activities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring:
- 3 -5 years’ demonstrated experience and technical expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) across a range of sectors (LCA practitioner certification is a strong advantage)
- Demonstrated experience using Simapro, and familiarity with other LCA tools such as GaBi and OpenLCA
- Strong understanding of database management or tool development (e.g. programming, automation)
- Strong project management capabilities, including managing multiple priorities and timelines
- Excellent written communication, analytical skills (including Microsoft Excel proficiency), and attention to detail
- Experience applying climate science to real-world decision-making, including disclosures or adaptation planning
- Willingness to contribute to related sustainability services, including circular economy, sustainability strategy, waste, and resource recovery
- Experience in consulting or in-house advisory roles, with a focus on client delivery
