The Role and Why You’ll Love Working With Us

Climate and decarbonisation reporting is reshaping how organisations understand their risks and opportunities — and how they prepare for the future. Businesses are looking for advisors who bring rigour, clarity and practical direction to these challenges.

As a Managing Consultant, Decarbonisation, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping clients design and deliver credible pathways to net zero. You’ll lead the development of decarbonisation strategies, apply robust mitigation modelling, and support organisations to meet emerging disclosure requirements (ASRS, ISSB, SBTs).

This role is ideal for someone who’s ready to step into a broader leadership remit — leading project delivery, supporting business growth, mentoring junior team members and shaping the future of decarbonisation advisory at Edge.

You’ll report to the Head of Decarbonisation and work closely with colleagues across Climate & Nature, ESG and Circular Economy. Every project you lead will contribute to a bigger purpose: enabling clients to accelerate their transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of decarbonisation strategies and transition plans.
• Apply mitigation modelling and analysis, ensuring rigour and quality.
• Manage large client accounts spanning multiple Edge service lines.
• Build client capacity in climate disclosure, reporting and strategy.
• Stay ahead of industry and regulatory trends, translating them into practical outcomes.
• Contribute to thought leadership, proposals and partnerships that extend our impact.
• Mentor and support consultants and analysts within the team.

What we’re looking for

• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, Sustainability, Sustainable Finance or a related field.
• Strong data analysis and modelling skills (advanced Excel; PowerBI, R, or similar an advantage).
• Experience in emissions reduction strategies, climate transition planning, and/or disclosure frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• A collaborative, adaptable leader who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Genuine passion for creating meaningful change for people, nature, and climate.
• Commercial acumen and client advisory experience, including direct engagement with senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to guide and mentor junior team members
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, clear, concise, and impactful
