Consultant - Lifecycle Thinking
We’re looking for a Consultant to join our Lifecycle Thinking Team and help drive meaningful, positive impact alongside a passionate group of like-minded humans.
A little about us
At Edge Impact, we’re a team of passionate, collaborative, experienced sustainability experts who work with leading multi-national businesses across a wide range of industries to pursue the critical shared vision where unsustainable is unthinkable.
As an Edger you’ll have the chance to work with an amazing team of like-minded people to generate a major positive influence on the world. Edge is also part of the RSK Group, a global leader in delivering sustainable solutions through environmental, engineering, and technical services, meaning we have the ability to create impact at scale
The role and why you’ll love working with us
We’re looking for someone who is passionate, motivated, technically astute, and collaborative. This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide — but we’re also open to other locations across Australia.
As a Consultant, your core responsibility will be to deliver high-quality sustainability project work for our clients across a range of sectors, while contributing to the growth and evolution of our Lifecycle Thinking team. You’ll be expected to build strong industry networks, develop client relationships, and contribute to Edge’s learning culture. We value team players who actively support our positive and inclusive culture and who are self-driven in their professional development.
Our current Lifecycle Thinking services include:
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
- Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
- Hotspot analysis and benchmarking
- Whole-of-life cost and triple bottom line assessments
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality sustainability solutions and recommendations grounded in the latest science, methods, tools, and approaches.
- Prepare clear, compelling reports, presentations, and summaries that communicate complex analyses and support project outcomes.
- Manage smaller projects end-to-end or contribute as a key team member, depending on the assignment.
- As a Project Manager, lead smaller project planning and execution, coordinate with clients, track progress, ensure timely delivery, and manage project administration (including invoicing).
- Stay informed on emerging trends, innovations, and best practice in life cycle thinking and the circular economy, and contribute to Edge’s leadership in the field.
- Work closely with clients to identify evolving sustainability challenges and co-create solutions that deliver meaningful impact.
What we’re looking for
You are client-focused, solutions-oriented, and known for your positive attitude. With strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, you’re seen as a trusted advisor. You’re adaptable, proactive, and capable of balancing delivery responsibilities with business development activities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring:
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience and technical expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) across a range of sectors (LCA practitioner certification is a strong advantage)
- Practical experience using Simapro, and familiarity with other LCA tools such as GaBi and OpenLCA
- Interest and/or experience in database management or tool development (e.g. programming, automation)
- Strong project management capabilities, including managing multiple priorities and timelines
- Excellent written communication, analytical skills (including Microsoft Excel proficiency), and attention to detail
- Confident verbal communication skills and experience engaging with stakeholders
- Willingness to contribute to related sustainability services, including circular economy, sustainability strategy, waste, and resource recovery
- Experience with Climate Active certification (desirable but not essential)
We don’t expect you to meet every single requirement. If you meet most of the criteria and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply.
The Rewards and Culture
As a new team member of this global consultancy, you will join a purpose-driven community, working alongside passionate experts to create a lasting, positive influence on the world. You will be joining 60+ specialists from 20 nationalities, working across five global offices, each contributing unique experiences, perspectives, and stories.
Unique to this role is the depth of technical capability in the current team across climate change, decarbonisation and nature.
Other key benefits include:
- Making a Real Impact – Work with a certified B Corp where purpose meets commercial success, driving meaningful change for a sustainable future.
