At Edge Impact, we’re reimagining sustainability. We’re not just another consultancy—we’re a collective of bold, innovative, and passionate individuals working to create real change. Our team is diverse in experience but united by a shared mission of creating a world where unsustainable is unthinkable.
Your Role
As a Senior Consultant in our Climate & Nature team, you’ll play a key role in helping clients undertake physical and transition climate risk assessments and assisting our clients in their climate disclosure journey to the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards. You’ll be familiar with climate scenario analysis techniques, climate exposure assessment, and general climate science, including climate projections in Australia and relevant data sources from the IPCC, and the development of adaptation plans and strategies.
You’ll lead projects, engage directly with clients, and, depending on your experience level, mentor and manage junior consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Climate Risk Assessments – Design and deliver physical and transition risk assessments aligned to national and international standards.
- Physical Risk Analysis – Conduct quantitative assessments using Australian climate datasets, including GIS or other widely used climate models.
- Climate Exposure Assessments – Use IPCC climate projections and Australian datasets to assess climate hazards and their potential impacts on different locations.
- Adaptation Strategies – Develop climate risk treatment plans and adaptation strategies to strengthen resilience.
- Climate & Nature Disclosure – Guide clients in aligning with climate-related and ESG standards, including AASB S2 and Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) (Experience in this would be advantageous but not essential)
- Nature Risk Assessments – Apply the LEAP methodology to assess nature-related risks, impacts, and dependencies for organizations. (Experience in this would be advantageous but not essential).
- Client Engagement – Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored sustainability solutions.
- Project Management – Oversee project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes across various industries.
- Capacity Building – Support clients in developing internal capability for climate risk management and sustainability reporting.
- Proposal Development – Lead the development of compelling proposals that articulate Edge’s expertise and approach.
- Research & Innovation – Stay informed on the latest trends, regulations, and innovations in climate science, risk assessment, and sustainability reporting.
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated solutions and provide mentorship to junior consultants.
What You'll Bring?
- Analytical Skills – Strong ability to interpret and analyze climate data, conduct literature reviews, and translate insights into practical recommendations.
- Technical Proficiency – Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with PowerBI, R, GIS, or other analytical tools is a plus.
- Climate Science Expertise – Understanding climate projections, risk modeling, and adaptation strategies.
- Communication Skills – Ability to explain complex climate and sustainability concepts clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.

We combine science, strategy and storytelling in partnership with motivated leaders, organisations and industries to reimagine sustainability for positive impact.
To fully transition to a sustainable society, commitments and targets are no longer enough. The warning signs have become frequent emergencies and disasters. Record temperatures, devastated communities, fires, floods, and food shortages.
The message is clear: it’s time to step it up and deliver, today.
Transformation takes more than just one voice.
It’s why our team includes over 100 specialists of 26 different nationalities in 6 office locations across the globe. All with unique experiences and stories to tell.
The common thread amongst us all is our commitment to deliver impactful change - and to share that in ways everyone can understand.
